In 2025 Surrey Secondary Phase Council invested in www.teachback.co.uk an initiative brought to Secondary Phase by our own Northeast Chair, Phil Reeves.

Teachback is an exciting opportunity for Surrey’s secondary schools to connect with high-quality, internationally experienced teachers. With increasing challenges in teacher recruitment, this initiative provides access to a talented pool of educators, including UK-trained teachers currently working in Dubai who are looking to return to the UK or bring their expertise to new schools.

• Through this initiative, Surrey schools can:
• Engage with top-tier teaching talent before they enter the UK job market.
• Recruit highly skilled educators with international experience and diverse teaching approaches.
• Conduct in-person interviews in Dubai to ensure the best fit for their school’s needs.

This innovative approach strengthens Surrey’s workforce by bringing world-class teaching into our classrooms. By expanding recruitment beyond the UK, schools can attract exceptional educators, ensuring Surrey’s students benefit from high-quality teaching and fresh perspectives.
