Welcome to Surrey Secondary Phase Council

Advocacy through Partnership

Surrey Secondary Phase Council is the independent voice of Surrey’s state secondary schools. As a company limited by guarantee, we bring school leaders together to share knowledge, influence decisions and provide practical support to our members.

Our purpose is to ensure that secondary education has a strong and coordinated voice across Surrey. We work closely with school leaders, the local authority and other education partners to raise shared concerns, contribute to strategic discussions and help shape decisions affecting schools and young people.

Our meetings provide regular opportunities for leaders to discuss local and countywide priorities, exchange experience and hear directly from key partners. Representatives from across Surrey also come together through Full Phase Council to coordinate the secondary response to emerging issues and agree collective priorities.

We host two major conferences each year, one in the summer and one in the autumn. Across the two events, members benefit from both a one day conference and a residential conference, with the format determined each year. Our conferences give school leaders time to engage with expert speakers, explore important developments and connect with colleagues from across Surrey.

Alongside our meetings and conferences, members can access useful documents, current notices, project information and a range of professional support. This includes access to the Education Support Employee Assistance Programme.

Surrey Secondary Phase Council works collaboratively with Early Years, Primary, Specialist and Post 16 colleagues through Surrey Joint Phase Council. This helps ensure that education leaders can speak collectively on issues affecting children, young people and schools across Surrey.
