Our recent SEND webinar held on 9th October 2025, hosted in partnership with Browne Jacobson LLP, offered an in-depth and highly informative session led by Hayley O’Sullivan, Principal Associate at the firm.
While the event was unfortunately affected by significant sound quality issues throughout, attendees remained fully engaged thanks to Hayley’s clear expertise, practical guidance, and ability to navigate complex areas of SEND law with insight and clarity.
The session covered a wide range of vital topics, including:
- The current and future landscape of SEND and the impact of national reform;
- The Children and Families Act 2014 and Equality Act 2010, and how they shape schools’ duties;
- Developing and maintaining effective SEND information reports;
- Admissions and parental preference for mainstream education;
- Responding to EHCP consultations and addressing funding and provision challenges;
- Avoiding complaints and claims, and strengthening collaboration with local authorities.
Despite the technical difficulties, the webinar succeeded in delivering a wealth of up-to-date, practical advice for school leaders and SEND professionals.
A huge thank you to Hayley O’Sullivan for an engaging and insightful presentation, and to everyone who joined us and contributed to such a valuable discussion.
Due to the poor sound quality of the webinar we will be holding a short 30 minute follow up to cover any items that were inaudible on the 9th October. The follow up session was held at 2pm-2.30pm Wednesday 5th November.
