As Co-Chairs of the Surrey Secondary Phase Council, Barbara Mayaire, Principal at Three Rivers Academy, and I are proud to represent and support secondary school leaders across Surrey.  As Headteacher of Guildford County School, I know how valuable it is to have a network of colleagues with whom to share ideas, tackle challenges and work together for the benefit of our schools and our students.

The Council provides a space for collaboration, advocacy and engagement with key stakeholders, ensuring that the voices of Surrey’s secondary schools are heard and that we continue to drive positive change in education.

I am incredibly proud to serve as one of the two Co-Chairs and if there is ever anything that I or the Council can do to support you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Barbara Mayaire

It’s a privilege to write to you in my new role as Co‐Chair of the Secondary Phase Council, alongside Steve Smith. As Principal of Three Rivers Academy, I am committed to working with all of you to build on our strengths, and to foster collaboration, innovation, and excellence across Surrey secondary schools.

My focus is on ensuring that every school in our network has access to the support and resources needed to meet the challenges of our rapidly changing educational landscape. Whether it is sharing best practice or nurturing the wellbeing of students and staff, I believe we can achieve so much more together.

Thank you to each one of you for your dedication to our students. I look forward to the conversations, projects, and successes we will share in the coming years.
